2016 Red Herring Top 100 Award

Red Herring Top 100 Europe enlists outstanding entrepreneurs and promising companies. It selects the award winner from approximately 1200 privately financed companies each year in the European Region. Since 1996, Red Herring has kept tabs on these up-and-comers. Red Herring’s Top 100 list has become a mark of distinction for identifying promising new companies and entrepreneurs. Red Herring’s editors were among the first to recognize that companies such as Alibaba, Facebook, Google, Kakao, Skype, SuperCell, Spotify, Twitter, and YouTube would change the way we live and work. Thousands of the most interesting and innovative companies have graced the Top 100 list over the years.

“In 2016, selecting the top achievers was by no means a small feat,” said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring. “In fact, we had the toughest time in years because so many entrepreneurs had crossed significant milestones so early. But after much thought, rigorous contemplation and discussion, we narrowed our list down from hundreds of candidates from across Europe to the Top 100 Winners. We believe arivis embodies the vision, drive and innovation that define a successful entrepreneurial venture. arivis should be proud of its accomplishment, as the competition was very strong.”

The winners for the 2016 edition of the Red Herring 100 Europe award were selected based upon their technological innovation, management strength, market size, investor record, customer acquisition, and financial health. The market footprint, execution of strategy and integration into their respective industries were also main criterions. During the months leading up to the announcement, Red Herring reviewed European companies in the telecommunications, security, cloud, software, hardware, biotech, mobile and other industries. After a very successful company presentation, arivis was announced as one of the winners of Red Herring’s 2016 Top 100 Europe award during a solemn Award Ceremony.

This unique assessment of potential is complemented by a review of the actual track record and standing of a company, which allows Red Herring to see past the “buzz” and make the list a valuable instrument for discovering and advocating the greatest business opportunities in the industry.

“In the past years we achieved several awards and recognitions. Winning these awards proves us, that we are on the right track, and our business strategy and innovation strengths are the base for a successful development”

explains Andreas Suchanek, CEO and Founder of arivis.

2015 Deloitte Technology Fast 50 Awards

Ascapex with its investment and shareholding in arivis, has made it to the prestigious list of the 50 fastest-growing high-tech companies in Germany. The company achieved an excellent 27th place in this year's "Technology Fast 50 Awards" of Deloitte, one of the four world leading business consulting and audit companies, as a result of its ability to innovate and its competitive strength. The Fast 50s are amongst the most important awards in the German high-tech sector and were presented for the 14th time this year. The rankings are based on the percentage growth in revenue over the preceding four business years, 2011 to 2014.

Once again, we received a large number of applications from a wide range of technology sectors this year. The wealth of ideas underlines the innovative strength of Germany as a business location. Companies now need to re-evaluate their business processes, to adapt their products and to analyze and evaluate large volumes of data in this digital age. Expert IT solutions are therefore in great demand. "The Fast 50 applicants have gained customer acceptance with their innovative business models and also have the potential to become global players", explains Dr. Andreas Gentner, partner and head of the Technology, Media & Telecommunications Division at Deloitte.

"Receiving the accolade of the Technology Fast 50 Award confirms that we are on the right track with our biomedical software and IT solutions“, says Andreas Suchanek, CEO and founder of arivis, commenting on the award. As a result, arivis was able to increase its revenue by more than 206 % over the business years 2011 and 2014. In addition, the number of employees has increased to more than 50. Apart from the head office in Unterschleissheim near Munich, arivis has also established locations in Berlin, Rostock, Phoenix (AZ) and Washington (D.C.). Additional locations are already in the process of being implemented or planned.

One of the innovative products of arivis is the award-winning software suite arivis Vision (now ZEISS arivis Scientific Image Analysis Platfrom). This revolutionary software for life-science and medical research enables users effortlessly to visualize, process and analyze the vast quantities of data which modern tomographic imaging systems (e.g. light sheet microscopes) produce. Multi-dimensional multi-terabyte image data sets can therefore be quickly and efficiently processed by arivisVision, even on standard PCs and laptops. To illustrate the data volume: a written DIN A4 page is about four kilobytes, one terabyte corresponds to approx. 250 million typewritten pages, which is equivalent to a stack of paper 15 miles+ high! In contrast, competitive products reach their limits at a data volume of 3 to 5 gigabytes. arivis solutions have therefore been able to accommodate the current data explosion in the imaging sector and are meanwhile used in more than 25 countries around the world at this point in time.

Andreas Suchanek forecasts a growth rate of more than 100% for the imaging division this year. As a result, the CEO assumes that arivis will again be ranked amongst the fastest-growing German high-tech companies in the Technology Fast 50 Awards 2016.
