Handball is a team sport in which two teams compete with the aim of throwing a ball into the goal of the opponent. Every team is set up of seven players (six outfield players, one goalkeeper). A playing time runs for 2 periods of 30 minutes. The game was invented at the end of the 19th century in Europe. It is still popular in particular in this region. It was first played at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin. The International Handball Federation was constituted in 1946.

arivis sponsored the women’s handball team of Groebenzell, near Munich. They have finished the 2015-2016 season as the number two. Although they won one of two play-off games they did not qualify for the second league. But they will try again next year. The team has been widely known as a reference for young players that want to take the next step in their sportive career.

Strong girls, strong women, strong handball, strong partner!

Since its inauguration, some 40 years ago, the HCD Groebenzell has focused entirely on handball for young girls and women. This makes the team special within the Bavarian and German handball association. While having only 200 members, being one of the smallest teams, HCD belongs to the most successful ones in Bavaria. This is thanks to many volunteers and partners that are devoted to the handball, the community as well as the region.

The community of Groebenzell is located at the western city limits of Munich in the county Fuerstenfeldbruck. The superb infrastructure and the character as a garden City offer excellent prerequisite for sports. It also provides ideal circumstances for living and working.
