The arivis Viewer is our tool for visualization and describing annotation of large, multi-dimensional image data sets. Aim of the development is to provide the user with an inexpensive and easy to handle system. The functionality concentrates on the presentation and documentation of the data as well as simple and intuitive navigation.

Like the „big brother“, the arivis Browser, the arivis Viewer is able to load and display however large image data very performantly. Actually, this is no surprise, since both have the same basis – the arivis ImageCore. No matter if the size of the data is 100 MByte, 10 GByte or 300 GByte, no matter if they are stored on a fast hard drive, in a network or on DVD, no matter if you work on PC or Macintosh – the arivis Viewer facilitates a fast and intuitive navigation through the high-dimensional data sets.

Within the scientific context, the arivis Viewer is used as a tool for the visualization of the data acquired and analyzed with the arivis Browser. Thus, scientific results can be easily and reproducable be presented and documented because the analyzed image data and the arivis Viewer software are provided together on a DVD

Within the marketing area, the performant visualization of very large image data offers completely new possibilities for presentation and merchandize. Thus, the arivis Viewer is used as a tool for tourism marketing in co-operation with the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR - German space center). Panoramic views with extremely high resolution are enhanced by overlaying information about the displayed objects of interest and offered by tourist offices, hotels and other partners as inexpensive means of promotion. The potential visitors are thus able to get a better impression of their holiday region and print parts of the image as souvenir.

Starting with the image capturing over annotation, planning and realization of DVD- and cover design to the making of the media, arivis offers an integrated package for different editions.
