User Requirements

The arivis browser is a complex software product that benefits from up-to-date hardware and software components. In the following you find the minimum hardware and software requirements that must be met and some further recommendations that guarantee an optimum user experience.

Due to an error in the latest AMD/ATI graphics drivers, updating to Catalyst versions 11.10(8.902) and 11.11(8.911) is not advised and will render the 4D Viewer component dysfunctional. This notice will be updated with further information and instructions once AMD has resolved this issue.

Supported platforms

This version of the arivis browser has been successfully tested on the following operating systems:
Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (32 bit)
Windows Vista (32 and 64 bit)
Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit)

After installing the arivis browser into one directory make sure that this directory is writable for the prospected user or run the application with administrator privileges. Unpacking and installing new plugins requires write access.

Required software components and drivers

The following software components are required by the arivis browser and will be automatically installed when using the installer.
Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86)
Aladdin HASP SRM driver (http://www.aladdin.com/support/hasp.aspx)

Requirements for the 3D/4D Visualisation

The complex 3D and 4D visualisation techniques provided by the arivis browser benefit from up-to-date graphics hardware and drivers.

GLSL 1.3+
256 MB RAM or more

Minimum graphics card requirements

NVIDIA
GeForce 8000(M) series or better
Quadro FX 570(M) or better
latest drivers available for your setup

ATI
Radeon HD 4000 series or better
Radeon Mobility HD 4000 series or better
latest drivers available for your setup

Recommended system components

System Memory (RAM): 4 GB or more
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560(M) or better
latest drivers available for your setup

For mobile drivers you might need to contact the support of your notebook vendor.

The 3D/4D visualisation may not be available if the installed graphics card driver is outdated, even if the graphics card is listed as a supported model.
