arivis participates in the 2nd European Congress of Immunology (ECI 2009)

In advance to the ECI 2009 in Berlin, a Pre-Congress Satellite Meeting covering the field of “Imagine Immunity” took place in September 2009. Prof. Dr. Matthias Gunzer and Dr. Peter Reichardt, both from the Institute of Molecular and Clinical Immunology at Magdeburg University, had invited several leading international experts to discuss the latest technologies of microscopy and image processing used in the research and visualization of immune reactions on a cellular and molecular level. Besides discussing the latest results of research in this field, the participants focused in particular on the technological development of imaging systems.

Prof.Matthias Gunzer mit Mitarbeitern von
arivis und Till Photonics am Stand

As a sponsoring body, arivis and Till Photonics GmbH took the chance to demonstrate the combination of the iMIC (for the fastest live cell Imaging) and the arivis browser (for the visualization and analysis of indefinite, multi-channel image data in 2D and 3D).The combination of resolution improving methods such as SIM (structured illumination), STED (stimulated emission and depletion) or iPALM (interferometric photoactivated localisation microscopy) and the necessity of displaying temporal relations can lead to a very high amount of data which can not be handled by a common Imaging System – and that is where the arivis browser is applied.
