First workshop „New teaching methods in pathology“
The e-learning project mirax@netbase that visualizes digital slides of pathological slices for university teaching forms the background for the opening workshop “New teaching methods in pathology”, which is taking place on July 27, 2009, in the Intercity Hotel, Stuttgart
The goal of the workshop is to set up a board of scientists and experts coming from the fields of pedagogics, didactics, and solution finding. They will collect and discuss the particular wishes and requirements, potentials and goals in regard to new tools in pathology. Conventional teaching methods are becoming more and more elaborated and time-consuming. Therefore, there is a high need for novel teaching methods among the teaching staff and students. Solutions such as e-learning platforms, which cover all aspects of teaching and study, require an intensive and long-lasting exchange of information and experience.
The workshop wants to establish a common ground where all of these themes and questions can be discussed among experts in order to find suitable solutions.
So far, the University of Ulm and Tübingen as well as the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research will participate in the workshop. Additionally, the company NetBase as an initiator as well as Carl Zeiss MicroImaging and arivis will be among the participants.
