There is no other German city with such a wide offer of office space. Still, we had to do some office sight seeing tours until we decided in favor of a very special office in Berlin-Mitte.
Since February 2008, we reside now in a former manufactury building from the mid-nineteenth century. Tastefully reconstructed, it has been declared as historical monument.
Important for us, nearby there are the institutes of Charité-Universitätsmedizin and of the Humboldt University. This helps us to use the so called “short ways” for collaboration. Besides that, we are now present in a very central spot of Berlin for our customers.

arivis is moving. On May, 25, we move into our new premises near the Universitätsplatz, Rostock. They are located on the top floor of the former Sparkasse at Schwaansche Straße. We are very happy, that we will work from now on in this building, closely connected with Rostock´s history, with a view to the old wall grounds.
The town house was constructed in 1880 in the neo-renaissance style as new domicile for the city´s savings bank (Stadtsparkasse). The plans were designed by construction inspector Fritz Saniter, who also bought the property. Before, he was in charge of the reconstruction of the wall grounds, in the course of which the rose garden (Rosengarten) was installed, iniciated by the association for city adornment.
Opposite the town house, the Friedrich-Franz-Knabenschule (now the Große Stadtschule) is situated still today. The construction of this school was started in 1862 financed by the Stadtsparkasse.¹ Here, many famous personalities of Rostock started their careers, e.g. the Kossel brothers. One of them continued the fathers shipping company and lived in a flat of the town house, the eldest - Albrecht Kossel - was as a biochemist Professor of medicine in Berlin, Marburg and Heidelberg. In 1910, he received the Nobel Prize in Medicine for his works on nucleic acids.² "Hermann Heinrich Kossel, the youngest child of the ship owner and royal prussian consul, worked as a medic, among other, at the institute for infectional deseases headed by Robert Koch. Here, he started his research on the serum therapy of diphtheria and worked closely together with Emil von Behring and Paul Ehrlich. Due to his scientific work at the institute, he was appointed Professor in 1898".³
Our beautiful time at the Fraunhofer-Institute for Graphical Dataprocessing being over and gone now, we are very glad to inhabit this very buildung as new hotbed for our own ideas.
